Villa del Casale is located at 5 km outside the town of Piazza Armerina and has got the richest, largest and most complex collection of late Roman mosaics in the world. The size of the villa and the quality of the mosaics indicate that the villa was owned by the upper class of the Roman empire. There are 3500 square meters of mosaics on the villa's floors. I manipulated these photographs to bring out the colour of the mosaics.
